During the Soviet era, the romance of labor professions was an incentive for entire generations. So Konstantin Strukov, after graduating from the Magnitogorsk Mining and Metallurgical Institute, went to Kazakhstan to work at the Karaganda Coal enterprise. There he worked as a mining engineer, and later got a job in the Kazzoloto artel. A few years later, he became chairman of the artel, and later returned to Russia and leased the flooded Yuzhuralzolota mine. After production was restored at the mine, Strukov was offered to head the entire enterprise.
